Ursuline Senior Services depends on the people of Allegheny County and the surrounding counties for help in providing high quality services to the aging adults in our communities. You can help by volunteering your time and talent in any number of ways. Ursuline offers a variety of volunteer opportunities. Some involve working directly with our clients, while other volunteer opportunities are more behind the scenes in our office.

Volunteer Opportunities Available

AARP Money Management Program

If you have Microsoft Office experience, or better yet, know Quicken, the AARP Money Management Program needs you. Become involved in a program that helps low-income people with monthly bill paying and record keeping. Be a financial monitor or bill payer. Perform monthly reconciliation of financial information or visit older and homebound clients with writing checks and balancing checkbooks, respectively. These positions require clearances and training. Or consider helping out with administrative/office tasks. Whatever your forte, lend your expertise.

Reassurance for Seniors

Do you have time in your day to share a few minutes of friendly conversation? Senior Reassurance volunteers reach out to persons living alone to assure his/her well-being. By assuring the participant is safe and well enough to answer the phone (and provide emergency follow-up if they don't), these specially-trained volunteers increase the individuals' ability to remain stable in their own home. That's a lot of return on just a few minutes a day!

Office Support

Assist Ursuline Senior Services and its various programs with its office and program activities such as mailings, computer data entry, filing, emails, reception duties, and/or phone calls. Even if you don't possess computer skills, there are still activities you can do. If you have a good sense of humor and want to increase the agency's ability to serve those who rely on US start volunteering now. Training and perks are provided.
